OLW Blog Hop: April in Review

It's time to "round" up another month from the One Little Word class, taught by Ali Edwards.

This month, Ali encouraged us to sit down and write a letter to ourselves - a future letter that dealt with our word.

My word is Rest.

I haven't written the letter yet. I'm still trying to figure out the words. - Go figure.

But I did take time to rest this month.

I broke my Lenten Starbucks fast mid-April, taking an afternoon break with a fun drink and the OLW homework. Something tells me this may be where you find me this Saturday....hum.

I also slipped away for a few days in a "luxury" spot - I felt like an Ozark princess (lol). I rested and relaxed.

I also tested out the jacuzzi tub, with some new aromatherapy stuff. Note to self for the next time I try this "relaxation" method, I need to use less bubble stuff. Bubble stuff + water jets = an over abundance of bubbles. I felt like it was the scene from "Pretty Woman" when the bubbles filled the tub.

It was fun to enjoy the little "perks" at the resort - fancy soaps and homemade cookies on my pillow.

Part of the assignment meant also taking a self-portrait this month. I'm not sure if this will be the photo I use for the assignment, but gave me a chance to show off my new glasses and my new t-shirt.

Rest.

I'm still learning how to incorporate it into my life.

Rest is vital. I need it to recharge my batteries.

(I also wrote a devo about Rest....but since I've submitted it for consideration in a potential devotional book, I can't include it....)

Rest.

I think I need to remember this quote more and more....
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time. ~J. Lubbock

It's ok to rest.
I wonder how I'll rest this month.....
