Blog Tour: Heiress (Review)

What would you do if you had all the money in the world? (Or at least seemed to have everything at your finger tips?)

What happens when you find out that money cannot buy happiness - what choices would you make?

In Heiress, Susan May Warren takes the traditional tale of the Prodigal Son, plops it in the Gilded Age in the US, and makes the main characters female.

Wow.

With her solid historical writing style, Warren turns a tale that is familiar to many and gives it new life in an unexpected way. It will hold your attention and make you laugh, cry and even think - about the choices we make - and how they can impact a family for generations.

You'll find yourself looking at this time of glitz and glamor in New York in a new way. Honestly, it's a story that could take place in 2011, reminding us that the lifestyle of the rich and famous isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

Heiress is a strong piece of fiction. You'll be left wondering if Jinx, Esme and the others are really just fictional characters - because their lives seem too real to be creations of Warren's mind.

On a scale of one to five, with five being the highest, I give this book a solid four. It definitely left me wanting more - which is good, since this is the first book in a new series by Warren.
