Welcome to the world Miss Emma Grace

Well, she is her momma's daughter.
My friend Betsy always knew how to make an entrance or her presence known while we were roomies at Asbury Seminary.

Miss Emma Grace decided to be an Easter present, and make a big splash entering the world.
(As if a seminary grad would have their baby on any other day, than Sunday...)

Jay and Betsy welcomed her, by c-section (not planned), at 12:03 p.m., Sunday, March 23.
She weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Betsy just called, they are home, doing well and yes, Miss Emma likes to sleep....

...my quip - with a mom who could fall asleep with her cowboy boots on while studying, would you expect anything less.

Welcome to the world Miss Emma Grace. Your Auntie Kaylea loves ya very much. I can't wait to hold you in person, to put a face with the little voice that I just heard over the phone.

Horton Hears a Who

For the record, the movie was great...lots of people in the 12:30 afternoon showing....
you can tell parents are tired during Spring Break....lots of them had trouble staying awake...some around us were dozing...(ok, Denni and I had trouble staying away too...not because it was bad, we were just tired...)

We could have just gone to the movie and had popcorn, and called it good....

But no, we just had to go to ihop, to try out the Horton food.

It was ok...the who cakes were sweet....the green eggs, not so good, and the drink - who thought of putting jello in Sprite?

Anyway, no layouts made yet, but here's a few pics from the day...

K - drinking the who drink ... Beezlenut Splash
(aka. Sprite with cherry and berry blue Jello chunks)

K with her stack of Who Cakes (ihop pancakes, blueberry and boysenberry glaze, colored chocolate chips and a lollypop (supposed to represent the clover flower that the speck lands on)

G with her who cakes.....yes, they are as "sweet" as they look.

The Mayor's Breakfast - Green eggs (scrambled with creamed spinach), ham and hashbrowns, and a stack of who cakes..... way too much....most of my who cakes came home with the kids for tomorrow... (the green eggs weren't that good either....even with the salsa)...lol the advertising was WAY good if it got me to eat them...

G & K after we ate our meal....yes, Denni and I avoided the camera....lol

I'm still alive

I promise, I'm still alive.

Haven't posted here much in the last month or so, well really, since the "Medical incident" in January.

Here's the basic info

...I'm officially off all meds except blood pressure - and it's been cut in half (yippiee)...

....I've lost almost 20 pounds (I'll know officially when I start "weighing in" on one scale...but the pants I bought at the end of Feb - and were tight - aren't so tight anymore....

...I'm finally feeling better...each week gets better, but this is the best so far.

...I'm still behind (but what is new right?)

It's Holy Week/Easter in the church, and it's crazy busy this week....Sunday's comin! I'm excited for Easter this year, because I'm hoping it will just be Crazy at work after the holiday, not crazy busy.

Um...I have been scrapping....not a ton, (did I mention I feel like I'm behind the eight ball)...but here's one of my most recent layouts...

(Everything from Danielle Young or Sue Cummings Designs - at Oscraps.com

Here's a goofy layout - a silly memory from my earliest newsroom days....

(Template by TaylorMade Designs aka Amanda Taylor - Oscraps.com, paper, Wizard of Oz kit, Danielle Young, Oscraps.com)

And here's another one....
I love this one of Collin (nephew) from when he was little...

(kit from Heather Roselli - Sweet Shoppe Designs.com)

Oh, and one last one....Kiki - Denni's youngest....my fashionista inspiration...
(Almost everything - by Amy Teets at Oscraps.com)

I'll post more this weekend (I hope)...I'm slowly coming back to life...which is fitting, since the first day of spring is this week...
